Reaching Back on Pronation
As reported in Science magazine, Jeremy DeSilva of Boston University presented a paper at the recent meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists. In it, he reported on his study of two partial skeletons of the early hominid Australopithicus sediba showed that the species pronated while walking upright by landing on its narrow heel and shifting its weight to the inside of its sole. While not considered a human ancestor, the results show that bad running form goes way back in our evolutionary history. So the next time somebody tells you that you overpronate, blame Au. sediba for your shortcomings.

There was a run on the Guiness book at the Morris Township Half where 1,600 plus runners dressed as superheros to break the record for the most costumed superheros in any event. A somewhat arcane record and there was indication of whether the winner was dressed as The Flash.
