This weekend marks the official start of spring even more than changing the clocks. for the 16th year, Bucks runners will be lacing up for the Bucks 5K Series, a set of seven races set in Central Bucks between March and June. Series Godfather "Don" Dick Patterson adds, "Yes, the season opens at the YMCA 5K on Sunday. We're expecting about 800 in the 5K and 150 in the Fun Run. The Y has also reactivated the Pump and Run competition. Last year the Series attracted 5700 registered runners for the 5Ks and the Fun Run and netted $136,000 for our non-profits. Registration is up more than 10% this year."

Group Run?
We're due for another group run. It's been a while since we've done one on the trails. The trails at Green Lane off Knight Road should be nice and muddy. How does March 26th sound? Meet at 10:00, run for an hour then EAT. Anyone in? Bring spare shoes and socks so we get let in to someplace respectable. Other suggestions are welcome.
A Different Group?
One of the more interesting races is the Pretzel City Sports Labor Pain 12 Hour Trail Run and RELAY. Given that misery loves company and it's been years (decades!) since I was ambitious and in shape enough to think about attempting an ultra, I'm looking for relay teammates. Any team with me as an anchor runner (as in running like dragging an anchor) will not be fast but will have fun. Figure on doing 2 x 5mile trail loops with the possibility of a third if you're motivated, although extra laps do cut into drinking time at the Liederkrantz and are therefore frowned on.
