Another New Member, Pick Your Race, When Going "Short" is Good, Help

New Member
Welcome to Bob Levkulik. Looking forward to his joining us in group events.

Easier to Pick
We've hit the month of the Thanksgiving Holiday, although TV commercials seem to have elided over that holiday directly to Christmas.  Regardless of  which holiday is on your radar, the coming of the cooler weather means that the race calender is finally thinning out and you have fewer than 30 races to choose from on a given weekend.  It's also the coda to the fall marathon season in the Northeast.  Given that our friends at the TV networks have decommissioned Thanksgiving, you're now free to tromp up to Berwick for this year's Run For the Diamonds.  It's a race that should be on everyone's bucket list with a tradition dating back to 1908.  It is run on the original route and you benefit from the fact that the roads are now paved.  The link to the race website is in the listing in the race calendar below.

A Little Warmth
Despite the snow "event", it's been unseasonably warm so far this season.  In fact, the snow was our first frost of the season, about a month behind schedule.  That means that the long pants are still in the back of the drawer (unless you're out in the very early AM).   So far, I've been running and biking in shorts with a goal of making it to Thanksgiving before digging out the leggings.  how about you?  At what temperature do you "go long"?

November Marathons
We had a  fine October of marathons with Chicago, Marine Corps and Steamtown and the introductory Delaware and  Lehigh run among others.  New York is in the books with Richmond, Harrisburg  and, of course, Philly.  Pass along any races you're running so I don't miss you in our results.  It's more imperative for Harrisburg and Philly because I can sort PA finishers in out of state marathons and work with a manageable subset of results to sort.

Club Races
Dodge the golf balls on the Macoby Run Run this weekend.  A great run, well organized and better food.

Website
Visit the club website, www.buxmontrunning.com and check out the "Athlete Profile" page featuring short self-written bios of club members. That I'm on there proves you don't have to be a good athlete to be on the page! Send yours to either me or Tom Daugherty. Tom actually does the work in his function as webmeister.
