Time to rethink this blog and switch to fortnightly rather than weekly. It's getting increasingly difficult to carve out time to do a semi-adequate job on this newsletter so it's time to back off and let things flow for a while. Things should change once the weather gets less amenable to being outside in the evening.
RW Challenge
This from Runners World. I have the registration info if anyone is interested:
"Runners World is excited to announce our inaugural half marathon, which takes place in Bethlehem on Sunday, October 21 (www.rwhalf.com). We are thrilled to welcome runners from across the country and around the world to this first class event. Of course, were especially excited to get our local Running Clubs involved too. This race would not be complete without them! So, in an effort to get even more running clubs involved, we have created a Running Club Challenge where individuals can register as a team and compete against other local teams.
I am writing to you to personally extend an invitation for Bux-Mont Running Club to start a team and encourage all members to be a part of the fun and incredible accomplishment of training for and completing a half marathon, 5K or 10K. This is a great way to build camaraderie and team spirit among your runners, and is also the very first opportunity to run with Runners World editors in their own backyard!"

The London festivities are done and I have to admit that I didn't see a minute of it other than some water polo in the distance which waiting in the bat at the Oakland Airport the other week. I'm not a fan of watching others run or bike or of watching events once every four years. I'll watch the hockey at the winter games but that's about it. It does make this blog a bit harder not being able to comment on any of the events but so be it.
