We had a nice group of five runners and one biker last week followed by some yummy omelets at the Dublin Diner. Admittedly, the purpose of the exercise was to provide an excuse for the eating. Healthy Kids Running Series
We've all seen how successful the "Girls on the Run" program has been in encouraging running among young girls. Here's another take on the idea for the "Healthy Kids Running Series" that is looking to expand in our area. Anyone interested should follow up directly with Ryan. As noted, the role of Community Director, while it does involve a significant commitment, is a paid position.
Attention Bux-Mont Runners! The Healthy Kids Running Series is looking to expand into your town this Fall.
HKRS is a 5 week running program for kids Pre-K through 8th grade where runners compete in races such as the 50 yard dash, mile, mile, and mile runs. The Healthy Kids Running Series is a great way to get kids interested in running at an early age. We are looking for someone to be the Community Director of a Healthy Kids Running Series in your area and need your help. The Community Director is responsible for marketing the Series in the community, managing the onsite operations, and securing volunteers/ local sponsors. We supply all marketing materials, race day equipment, handle registration, secure a location, etc. This IS a paid position and the Community Director will receive 50% of the net profits from their Series location.

Zumba and Injury
Here's a reminder to the zumba enthusiasts in the group that you still have to take care, warm up properly, have the right shoes and not overdo things to avoid injury. Missed the Double Trouble? Fear not, another evil trail race lurks in the Quadzilla 15K on Sunday. While not offering the 30K option, rumor has it that race director Jill Forsythe has a challenging course in the offing. You can be sure it will be well organized. Check the race website in the race calendar to make sure the field isn't full before showing up at Saturday packet pick-up. That's your last chance to sign up because there is no race day registration.
