Welcome to Carol Albright. Carol tells us, "I run locally in Quakertown. Just started about six months ago. I ran in high school (Pennsbury 1975-79). I just started to work with a trainer and one of my goals was to run again. Hard to believe I enjoy it as much at age 50 as I did many years ago. My first 5k was Cinco de Mayo in Quakertown and really enjoyed it. Thanks!!!"

What a great job by Jill Forsythe at the inaugural Quadzilla 15K. The race was well organized and featured unique prizes although the plentiful post race buffet was strangely lacking in unhealthy food. You know the course was challenging when even the first three runners had to walk the biggest hill.

Good luck to Randy and Mary Latza as they head to Lake placid to be Ironman and Ironwoman. After all the training, the race is the easy part, relatively.
Hard or Soft?
Here's something of an answer as to whether it's better to run asphalt or trails. Two misses in the article. First, trails are defined as packed dirt, not the rocks, roots and holes we all know. the second is the final assertion that you should run on asphalt because that's where most road races are held.
