2012 Returning Team Member: Chris Garges

by Team Rev3 Triathlon on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 3:50pm
Chris Garges: 36 year old father of two amazing children, a Bethlehem PA resident that has a hard time figuring out which direction to put a wetsuit on!  Chris loves to give back to the community through volunteering, philanthropy, directing races and leading pace groups and hopes to obtain a coaching certification in 2012.

Why are you stoked to be on Team Rev3?
Well, honestly I don't know who's more stoked that I'm on Team Rev3 for my third year...myself or my kids!!  They love the getaway trips to Rev3 venues like Quassy, while I'm stoked to be a part of they best thing to hit the sport of triathlon, a company and a team that shares the same values that I do.

Races Filling
Two of the premier local races are the Superbowl 10K and Lehigh Valley Half Marathon.   Both races are so popular that they have field limits.  The Superbowl 10K is now sold out and more than half  of the places in the Half have been taken.  plus there is a price increase at the end of the month.  Get your app in now if you plan on running the Half before all the places are snapped up.

Group Run
Last year we had a fine time at a New Year's Eve run.  Let's repeat the event and start a new tradition!  Time and place to be announced.

Joe Workout
Many of us, myself included, wouldn't think of doing anything, much less going our the door for a run without a morning cup of coffee or two.  It turns out that coffee actually does help your performance in both endurance and anaerobic events.  Those of us who are older really think the effect is getting the workout over so you can empty your bladder.  http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/12/14/how-coffee-can-galvanize-your-workout/?ref=health

Website
Visit the club website, www.buxmontrunning.com and check out the "Athlete Profile" page featuring short self-written bios of club members. That I'm on there proves you don't have to be a good athlete to be on the page! Send yours to either me or Tom Daugherty. Tom actually does the work in his function as webmeister.
