National Trail Running Day
August 20 is National Trail Running Day. What better way to celebrate than to run the trails at Lake Nockamixin? Even better, we'll be doing it as a combined event with Jill Forsythe and the Lehigh Valley Running Scene. Best of all, we will be retiring apres-run to dine at Becker's (formerly Cappie's) at the corner of Rte. 563 and Old Bethlehem Road. We'll meet at the Nox Trail, which has a 6 mile and a 2 mile loop, at 9:30. To get there, go to the intersection of Rtes. 611 and 412 at the top of Lake Nockamixon. Turn south (right) on 611 and right at the first light which, is Tower Road. Go ~1 mile down Tower Road to the parking area where we will meet. We should get a big crowd and parking is limited so carpool if at all possible. Jill has posted an announcement on Facebook and you can RSVP there or to me by e-mail. As always, you're welcome to come early if you are ambitious and want to do extra.

I am a race director for The Bucks County Half Marathon and The Trick-or-Treat 5 Miler, two local races in Tyler State Park. The Bucks County Half Marathon is going into its 3rd year this year and has been recognized in the community as a small town race, with big town race amenities. The Trick-or-Treat 5 Miler is a 5 Mile Halloween race in which participants are encouraged to dress in costume to run. Below I included some basic information about the two races.
